"Software & Tools" tab on each "MPU & MCU" product page (see example) provides lists of development environment products for your target Renesas' MPU/MCU
Switching display mode
The Software and Tools tab has two display modes: Promote Products Only (the default view), and All Products. You can switch to the mode that works best for the content you are viewing.
- “Show All Products (Include Discontinued products)” (See A in figure below)
- A full list including discontinued products will be shown. This link will appear only by the presence of discontinued products.
- "Show Promote Products Only"
- Clicking here takes you back to the default view which shows software and tools recommended for new designs.
Types of product lists
- Entry Tools
- The most basic development environment products. For example, a Renesas Starter Kit including a CPU board allows you to start the development right away.
- Standard Tool Chain
- A suite of tools used to design, debug and program embedded applications.
You can choose the debugging environment according to circumstances from simulators, OCD emulators, full-spec emulators, and others, so that you can construct the most suitable environment depending on needed functions and development scales. - Embedded Software
- Embedded Operating Systems, middleware, sample codes, and device drivers that correspond to the appropriate MCU group. Not only the functions and performance of the application, it will also assist increase the development efficiency.
- Evaluation Boards
- Board products which are helpful in the evaluation of Renesas' devices and prototype development.

Remark
As necessary, comments will be displayed. In the case of emulator products, click “Target connection info” to confirm information of connection patterns from the emulator to targets, and required connection component info (probe, accessories, sockets, and so on).
Finding tools without specifying the device group
- “Please use this pull down if you want to search for tools via tool categories and not through specific microcontrollers.” (See B in below figure.)
- Select the tool category from the pull down list and click the “Go” button; you can refer the lineup of every tool product that is provided without specifying the target device group.
