Roadmap
The SuperH MCU Series are equipped with 32-bit RISC CPU cores and I/O pin counts from 48 to 272 pins. Operating frequencies available range from 50 to 200 MHz. With a diverse lineup which includes dual core as well as single core, the SuperH MCU Series are used in a variety of motor control applications such as consumer inverter home appliances, industrial servo control and robot control, and automotive EPS (electric power steering).
SuperH MCUs have high-speed operation performance for high-precision motor control, demonstrated by energy-saving operation in home appliance compressors and high precision and high responsivity in industrial motor control equipment. Moreover, not only do these microcontrollers achieve high CPU performance, but they also combine a three-phase PWM timer with dead time which is essential for driving three-phase AC motors, a high-speed AD converter for magnetic-pole position estimation, an overcurrent protection circuit, and more, on a single chip. The SuperH MCUs shown above are all equipped with an on-chip three-phase PWN timer and are capable of driving three-phase AC and stepping motors.
